How do you find the frequency of a guitar sound and copy it.?

Hi I was wondering does any one know of any software that can detect the guitar frequencies in a song for e.g. sweet child o mine. If you know please tell me and how would you try and copy the frequency on the boss gt -10. Please explain as i am new to this.
