Will a florist shop sell me cellophane?

I am hoping to make some little gifts and wrap them in cellophane - I could buy those cellophane gift bags but would have to make a special trip to a distant town to get them. Do you think a florist shop would sell me just a couple of metres of cellophane or are they funny about such requests - anyone with experience of this?
